The National electronic Library of Infection is hosting its next National Knowledge Week from 24th March. It highlights important developments in tuberculosis in the last year, and includes a collection of recent, peer-reviewed publications, expert commentaries and links to useful resources. This is hosted by the National electronic Library of Infection (NeLI-www.neli.org.uk) and the National Knowledge Service for TB, and has been timed to link in with World TB day on 24th March 2008.

Sexual Health Awareness Week (12th to 18th February)

Breastfeeding Awareness Week (13th to 19th May)
Cancer Prevention - Fruity Friday (25th May)
Heart Health Week (2nd to 10th June)
Immunisation Awareness Week (10th to 16th September)
World Mental Health Day (10th October)
Alcohol Awareness Week (10th to 16th December)

The Department of Health recommends that all people aged 65 and over, and those among certain 'at risk' groups, get the flu vaccine once a year. Today marks the launch of the National Flu Campaign. As such the DH and NHS NE have published a press release and a handy flu fact sheet. A link to these documents has been set up for ease of access.

Despite what is being said nationally the supply of Vaccine to Gateshead GP's remains on schedule with supplies reaching practices by the end of October. However it is advised that anyone seeking a vaccine should contact their GP before going.
