Health Advice while you shop...
Sector 3 are one of several partners in"Health Stop", a new unit in the Metro Centre, where shoppers can drop in and get advice and information on all sorts of health issues.
Sector 3 will be talking to people about Brief Intervention for Smoking on Saturday 8th May between 10am and 1pm. If you are at the Metro, why not drop in and see what's going on - or even better, get some info for someone who's thinking of quitting smoking. Help is here!

The National Library for Public Health will run its first Annual Evidence Update (AEU) on drugs misuse from 8 June 2009. The theme for this first update is drugs misuse treatment in offender populations. We have teamed up with experts from the Addictions Centre based at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London to evaluate the evidence and put it into context. The AEU runs in conjunction with the Home Office Drugs Week.

SMART - Substance Misuse Awareness Raising and Treatment Launch

Please come and meet the team and celebrate the opening of the new and improved SMART service at our launch in June.
SMART - (Substance Misuse Awareness Raising and Treatment) has moved to new premises and grown in size to improve service delivery to young people in Gateshead.
We are holding two informative and fun open days. You will have the chance to learn more about our service, meet the team, see how we work with young people and the resources we use, and be able to network with colleagues as you enjoy light refreshments and a drink from our SMART non - alcoholic cocktail bar!
GATESHEAD THUNDER WILL BE HERE TO OFFICIALLY OPEN PROCEEDINGS ON JUNE 11TH 10am.
Please let us know the day and session you would like to come to.
Thursday June 11th, 9.30-11.30 or 2-4pm
Friday June 12th, 9.30- 1.30 or 2-4pm
There will be a formal presentation about the service at 10.30 am and 2.30pm each day.

Kicking Bad Habits - update from King's Fund
Over the past nine months the Kicking Bad Habits programme has produced a series of discussion papers and hosted a number of seminars exploring both the theory and practice of behaviour change interventions.
The website has been updated with:
