Locality Head of Community Nursing (Locality Matron): Gateshead PCT
My role includes operational management for health visiting, district nursing and school health advisory services in the South of the Borough. Since June 2002 I have also been a nurse member of the PCT's Professional Executive Committee (PEC) and the PCT Board. As such, I have an interest in health and health improvement at both a strategic and operational level.
Some key health improvement roles for Gateshead PCT include:
- Building good working relationships with the local communities and partner organisations, thereby maximising the effectiveness of any attempts to improve the health of the people of Gateshead
- Ensuring that all services developed are based upon information derived from rigorous health needs assessment
- Ensuring that all staff are aware of the contribution that they make to improving health in Gateshead transalting the organisation's objectives into their individual/team objectives.
