Consultation on obesity care pathway and resources for primary care.

A comprehensive guidance on prevention and management of obesity is currently under preparation by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence and is expected in early 2007. Pending this guidance, the public health white paper, Choosing Health, is committed to developing an obesity care pathway and a weight loss guide to support weight management in primary care.

The Department of Health is therefore carrying out a time limited consultation over a three week period.
The deadline for responses to this consultation is 22 December 2005, however responses will be able to be accepted until 3 January 2006.
