Sexual Health Awareness Week

Sexual Health Awareness Week, February 13-19th 2006

During the month of February posters similar to the image above will be displayed on buses and in Gateshead metro station. There is also expected to be some wider media coverage.

This week is also designated ‘Contraceptive Awareness Week’ by the Family Planning Association.

Condoms are still the most widely available, cheapest and most effective form of both contraception and protection against sexually transmitted infections.

If you are able to take the opportunity to have a conversation with anyone; patient, client, colleague, or family member for example, about sexual health and relationships, during this week, it would be excellent. If you work with any kind of group, and would like some suggestions for simple activites you could use in this week, have a look at this file:
