Health Needs Assessment Workshop, 27th March 2006

Thanks to all who came along to this workshop. Twelve people attended and there was a good mix of commissioners, service leads and community nurses. Everyone was very enthusiastic and the group sessions generated some lively debate. The full blog contains links to resources used on the morning and a workshop report....

The aims of the morning were:
- to set out a framework for undertaking health needs assessment (HNA)
- to understand how HNA can inform a business case
Practical exercises allowed participants to develop a framework HNA and a business case in their own area of practice, based on practical examples of HNA undertaken in Gateshead. Feedback was very positive. Evaluation showed that all participants understood the key elements of an HNA and would now be happy to undertake HNA in their own area of practice. See below for a report and the slides and exercises used on the morning.
