2005 Gateshead Compendium of Health Related Statistics

Thirteen chapters of the 2005 Gateshead Compendium of Health Related Statistics are now available. The Compendium is an annual publication which accompanies the Director of Public Health's Annual Report. It pulls together the latest information on health outcomes and lifestyle behaviours for the population of Gateshead and compares these figures with those for the NE and England. Read the complete blog for links to individual chapters...

The Compendium comprises 16 chapters, each looking at a different theme. The scope of the Compendium has been expanded this year to include some of the emerging data from primary care on the prevalence of disease, some information about hospital admissions and procedures, and information on the local prevalence of health-related behaviours such as smoking and drinking. It also includes some articles on recent developments in health care and local health improvement initiatives. Due to the extensive revision, individual chapters will be released as they become available.
