Throughout 2008 South of Tyne and Wear NHS will be raising awareness of a range of health issues such as Smoking, Breastfeeding, Heart Health, Cancer Prevention, Mental Health, Flu Awareness, Aids/Sexual Health and Alcohol. Anyone working to improve health in Gateshead, South Tyneside or Sunderland can get support and awareness material from the Public Health Improvement Information Service.

Members of the public and carers can also contact the Service for health improvement advice and signposting to appropriate organisations.
