World AIDS Day March Saturday 6th December 2008

December 1st is World AIDS Day. Building on the huge success of last year's event marking the occasion in the North East, a number of organisations have come together to plan what we hope will be another exciting march and event to celebrate the day and challenge the stigma and discrimination suffered by the millions of people worldwide whose lives have been affected by HIV/AIDS.

We plan to engage a diversity of schools, projects, organisations, groups and individuals in awareness raising sessions, workshops and banner making activities focused on HIV/AIDS in the run-up to a high profile march from Newcastle to Gateshead on the afternoon of Saturday, December 6th culminating in a celebration event at The Sage, Gateshead involving music, readings and a vigil.
