WELL DONE

YOU DID IT!

Success!

Thanks to each and every one of you who took part in No Smoking Day on Wednesday, 10 March.

This year's campaign was a great success due to the many fantastic events organised by smoking cessation teams, health professionals, pharmacists, GPs, teachers and human resource professionals.

The amount of media coverage generated was phenomenal - several national newspapers, including the Sun, and countless regional newspapers and radio stations helped spread the No Smoking Day message.

And then of course there is http://www.wequit.co.uk, our brand new website dedicated to smokers who want to quit. So far more than a hundred smokers have made a pledge via WeQuit to kick the habit and we expect the number of pledges to grow and grow over the coming year. In addition to pledging the site allows them to invite their friends to join via Facebook and Twitter, so that together they can help to beat the cravings. It also includes first hand testimonials from ex smokers who have successfully broken the habit, along with tips and advice for first time quitters. We would love to have more video testimonials so if you know of any ex smokers prepared to film themselves talking about their experience of quitting then please let our PR Manager - Laura know - laura@nosmokingday.org.uk.

And don't forget www.wequit.co.uk/facebook our unique new Facebook application which allows smokers to create rewards for success, forfeits for failure, or even try and raise money for charity with a sponsored quit. So far the application has more than a thousand active users and that number is set rise as word spreads.

We will give you much more detailed campaign evaluation in the very near future.

In the meantime........

We would like to hear your thoughts on the 2010 No Smoking Day campaign, so we can improve the 2011 campaign. We have devised a brief survey, by fill it in and you will be entered into a free prize draw worth £50 of No Smoking Day 2011 merchandise.
