A team of volunteer Health Trainer Champions and bowel cancer screening centre staff have the Going for Gold challenge of giving out 2012 Bowel cancer info share packs across the borough of Gateshead. The share packs aims to spread the word through a relay of information being passed on to family and friends.
Going for Gold is Gateshead Council's campaign to inspire, encourage and enthuse local people, whatever their age or activity level, to participate in sport and physical activity with the aim of leading a healthier lifestyle, and we know a healthy lifestyle reduces your risk of bowel cancer.
A Launch event on the 24th January at 1.00pm in the historic
At the launch there will be staff from the Bowel Cancer Screening Centre with a walk through inflatable bowel. Health information on nutrition and diet plus activities including a free exercise taster and gym tots.
The event is free and an opportunity to take away a bowel cancer info share pack and free swim voucher for every person who participates.
